2019-01-31

Owner operator addition to the highly acclaimed FD Series will join Horizon’s impressive showcase of new yacht models at the 2019 Palm Beach Boat Show

To debut new models as frequently as Horizon Yachts has in the last two years is no small feat, but the yard continues to innovate with inspired designs for its eight distinct series of luxury motor yachts. Yet another model —the FD77 —will be unveiled at the Palm Beach International Boat Show, March 28 – 31, 2019. This latest in the FD Series joins an impressive lineup that includes the new FD87, E88 and V68 motor yachts as well as the new PC65 and PC52 from the Power Catamaran Series.

Specified to accommodate owner operation, the Horizon FD77 is the smallest of the acclaimed Fast Displacement Series, which offers yachts in Open Bridge and Skyline configurations and now ranges from 77 to 125 feet. The FD77 Hull One has been customized for the U.S. market and offers the volume and versatility that defines the series. Enhanced by large sections of glass and a folding glass door that captures the casual elegance of an oceanfront retreat, the FD77’s interior is highlighted by a pleasant contrast of lights and darks; with satin Light American Oak offset by high gloss Walnut accents. A galley island/breakfast bar and floating staircase accessing the bridge and lower deck are two focal points of the open main deck, which offers one contiguous space that includes an efficiently designed exterior dayhead.

This first FD77 showcases a spacious open bridge with a fixed windshield, while an enclosed (Skyline) version is an alternate option. A walkaround deck leads to the side wingstations and forward seating area on the bow.

Offering a spacious on-deck master stateroom with full walk-in closet, sofa, desk and storage, the FD77 offers three additional ensuite staterooms on the lower deck comprised of VIPs forward and to port as well as a twin that converts to a double.

Powered by twin MAN diesels of 1,200hp each and fitted with ABT Zero-Speed stabilizers and bow/stern thrusters, the new FD77 is bursting with amenities, including an innovative stern beach club that doubles as a crew mess. The new FD77 is the ultimate option for owners who enjoy exploring on their own or with the two crew that can also be accommodated within.

Also appearing at the Palm Beach show is the new FD87 Skyline. This model is the first of its size to feature a walkaround bridge deck, which enhances the flexibility of the yacht’s many entertaining areas, from the enclosed skylounge and aft boat deck to the forward bow area and ever-popular beach club. The FD87 is now offered in an Open Bridge version as well.

Within a 23’ 3” beam, the FD87 Skyline offers a spacious on-deck master suite and four further guest staterooms on the lower deck. An impressive interior lighting package has been incorporated to dramatically enhance the spaciousness throughout, giving this yacht a modern loft-style interior that complements her contemporary exterior styling.

Powered by twin MTU 1,600hp engines, the FD87 Skyline is fitted with a full complement of high-end equipment, from Apple TVs and Bose sound equipment to ABT bow/stern thrusters and zero-speed stabilizers. This model also features a Maretron control and monitoring system, Sea Recovery 1400 gal/day water maker, Headhunter sanitary treatment system, and Reverso fuel polishing system, as well as a complete Garmin navigational system.

The most popular of Horizon’s series, the award-winning Horizon E88 debuted a new model at the 2018 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Specified for the U.S. market, this latest E88 boasts an enclosed skylounge and a unique interior layout that accommodates four staterooms including a full-beam master within a 21’ beam.. Designed for entertaining, the new E88 offers a spacious sun deck and beach club, and comes equipped with twin MAN 1,800hp engines, zero-speed stabilizers, bow and stern thrusters, and an island-friendly 5’ 5” draft.

Yet another head-turner that will delight visitors is the new Horizon V68, created in collaboration with designer Jonathan Quinn Barnett. The new V68 is the third model in Horizon’s V series, which includes the V72 and V80. Equipped with twin CAT C18 1,150hp engines, the V68 tops out at 25 knots and cruises comfortably at 20 knots. The 19’6” beam provides an abundance of space that is incredibly well utilized throughout the stylish V68, from the beach club aft to the foredeck seating and dining area.

The Horizon Power Catamaran display will showcase the popular PC52 and the second hull of the new PC65 model. The PC65’s advanced hull design is the culmination of decades of catamaran hull development, tank testing and CFD analysis. The versatility of the PC65 will appeal to the seasoned yachtsman and is available in either Open Flybridge or Skylounge versions with several layout and custom interior options. Powered by twin CAT C12-9 diesels, this PC65 boasts an impressive top speed and excellent stability, thanks to her optimized hull form.

Designed for easy owner operation, Horizon’s popular PC52 power catamaran is the ideal ocean-going, family cruising yacht. With the entire starboard hull dedicated to the owners, the three-cabin layout sleeps six in comfort. On the flybridge, the entertaining space houses a BBQ and davit to launch the jet ski and tender. Powered by Cummins 550hp engines, the PC52 cruises at 17 knots with a top speed of 22 knots.
