An Interior Without Restraint: JULIND

2018-09-27

The Horizon FD85 JULIND, hull six of the FD85 series, is the first fast displacement motoryacht the Horizon Group has delivered to Australia. Drawn by the expansive living and entertaining spaces aboard the FD85 that rivaled 100-foot-plus megayachts, the owner worked with Horizon to create an interior for JULIND that perfectly suited his active yachting lifestyle.

Highlighted by a blend of leather and dark Wenge wood in matte finish, JULIND’s European-styled interior exudes a zen-like atmosphere that is accented by Horizon’s exquisite craftsmanship and detailed carpentry.

The floor-to-ceiling glass windows surrounding her spacious main salon bring panoramic views and plenty of natural light into the interior. A custom, L-shaped Italian Nappa leather sofa invites relaxation while double-layer electric blinds can be adjusted remotely for privacy. Adjacent to the salon, the formal dining area with see-through views at both sides houses a clear tempered glass table seating ten guests. The portside galley fitted with high-end German appliances and plenty of storage space satisfies the demands for long journeys as well as banquets, while a climate-controlled storage room next to the passageway leading to the master stateroom offers additional pantry storage.

The entire yacht is fitted with a Crestron audio-visual and entertainment system that is easily controlled via smart phone. During the installation process at the yard, the Crestron engineers were so impressed by Horizon’s meticulous wiring and clear labeling that they were able to expedite the installation in less than the scheduled time.

Designed to maximize the views and natural light afforded by the FD85’s exterior styling, the on-deck master stateroom features extra-wide windows and an Oceanair skylight for even more light. The full-height headboard is designed with indirect light, while the side table, crafted of Nero Marquina marble, is ingeniously designed to create a floating illusion. In addition to a built-in vanity to port and loveseat to starboard, a well-planned forward bathroom fitted in Statuario Venato marble features a separate toilet and shower and floating sink cabinets with dual basins. To allow the owner and guests to monitor the real-time navigation information, multi-view panels were installed in the master stateroom, VIP forward and Crew mess.

The pilothouse aboard the FD85 JULIND motoryacht has been designed for the ultimate in comfort, providing excellent visibility and high ceilings that set off the elegant dark Wenge and brown leather console, which houses the Furuno navigation system and Böning digital monitoring system controls. An L-shaped settee situated to port is an ideal place for meeting or chatting with the Captain while underway.

On the lower deck, four ensuite guest staterooms comprise a VIP forward, two mirrored VIP staterooms amidships, and a twin stateroom to starboard, each offering separate toilets and showers with light-colored linens and soft goods that underscore the homey environment. Four crew members are accommodated in two comfortable bunk cabins with a crew mess and prep area situated near the engine room.

The convenient amenities and customized interior layout add to the owner and guests’ comfort as they enjoy cruising aboard JULIND. The interesting and unique features do not stop with her interior, however, as JULIND is the first Fast Displacement Series model to incorporate a helipad. We will explore this beautiful yacht’s exterior spaces, which have been even further customized to suit her active owner, in another webnews later this year – so be sure to stay tuned in!
