FD87 Skyline Prepares for her U.S. Debut

2019-01-11

Boasting many new features and a walkaround bridge deck design, the latest FD87 Skyline will debut at the Palm Beach Boat Show in March.

A brand new Fast Displacement motoryacht from Horizon has completed sea trials and is preparing for delivery to the U.S. The new FD87 Skyline is the first FD87 to feature a walkaround bridge deck design as well as many new amenities designed to enhance the onboard experience.

The incorporation of a walkaround design on the bridge deck brings tremendous flexibility to the enclosed skylounge, aft boat deck, and forward entertaining area, and allows guests and crew to transition between the spaces with ease. Aft, the boat deck is outfitted for entertainment and offers a full bar and grill area just beyond the skylounge as well as a settee and plenty of space for the tender. Sunshades extend the covered protection of this area. With the bar now situated aft, the enclosed skylounge and bridge area is complete with a dayhead and relaxed dinette area with low coffee tables. Doors to port and starboard provide access to the side deck and docking wingstations. The forward deck offers an entirely separate entertainment space fitted with a sprawling U-shaped settee, sunpads, refrigerator/freezer/icemaker, plenty of storage, and sunshades.

Within a 23’ 3” beam, the FD87 Skyline offers a spacious on-deck master stateroom and four further guest staterooms on the lower deck. An impressive interior lighting package has been incorporated to dramatically enhance the spaciousness throughout, giving this yacht a modern loft-style interior that complements her contemporary exterior styling. An Oak wood finish anchored by a slightly darker sole and Wenge bullnose accentuates the open and airy feeling throughout. Stonework in warm grey and white tones balances the wood finish while neutral soft goods with pops of blues and purples in various patterns and textures add visual interest.

Powered by twin MTU 1600hp engines, the FD87 Skyline performed well during her sea trials, achieving nearly 21 knots at half load. She is fitted with a full complement of high-end equipment including: Apple TVs and Bose sound equipment; ABT bow/stern thrusters; ABT zero-speed stabilizers; a Maretron control and monitoring system; Sea Recovery 1400 gal/day water maker; Headhunter sanitary treatment system; Reverso fuel polishing system, as well as a complete Garmin navigational system.

The FD87 Skyline will debut to the American market at the Palm Beach Boat Show, March 28-31, 2019 where clients can enjoy a personal tour. For a sneak peek beforehand, click the links below for a virtual walkthrough and video.
